I found this recipe the other day and could not wait to try it. It was delicious!!! It was very easy to make and cheap. Altogether I spent $6 to make it, and there was plenty for us all.
8 frozen burritos
1 can rotel
1 can of cream of mushroom
8 oz of sour cream
1 cup shredded cheese
Preheat oven to 350°. Arrange frozen burritos in a casserole dish. In a separate bowl mix rotel, sour cream, and cream of mushroom. Pour mixture over burritos and top with cheese. Bake for 35-45 minutes (mine took 45) or until bubbly.
I served mine with tortilla chips but spanish rice would be my next choice. 😛
Mac and cheese goes with so many things. You can make it as a side dish or add some meat to make it your main dish. It’s easy, you can freeze it, and it’s inexpensive. My 8 year old lives off macaroni and cheese so I make this a lot!
Baked Macaroni and Cheese
2 cups elbow noodles
2 cups milk
1/4 cup butter
1 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
2 cups cheese
Cook noodles according to package. Preheat oven to 350°. Mix eggs, milk, butter, salt, pepper, and 1 1/2 cup of cheese. Pour over noodles in a greased casserole dish. Top with remaining cheese and bake 45 minutes.
I am not a big meat eater, but this was good. It was cheap to make too! I will definitely be adding this recipe to our family menu. I hope you like it.
1 bag of frozen potatoes (or you can substitute for cut up potatoes which is what I did this time)
1 lb hamburger meat
1 onion chopped
2 cups of shredded cheese
salt, pepper and garlic to taste
Add oil to pan & begin cooking the potatoes with the salt, pepper, and garlic salt. In a separate pan brown the meat and drain. When the potatoes are almost done add the onion. Saute until the onions start getting soft. Add the hamburger meat and cheese. Sprinkle a little more salt and pepper and it’s done!
Altogether I think this took me about 30 minutes.
I love how easy this recipe is! It’s inexpensive, simple, and delicious. You only need 4 ingredients.
Crock Pot Stovetop Chicken
1-2 lbs of boneless skinless chicken
1 box of stovetop or off brand
1 can of cream of chicken
4 oz of sour cream
1. Put chicken in the crock pot. I put mine in frozen.
2. Put the stovetop next. Just dry.
3. Mix sour cream and cream of chicken together and put it on top. Try to cover it with the mixture the best you can. As you can see, mine isn’t perfect. Cook on high 4 hours. I stir mine about 30 minutes before it’s done to make sure all the dressing is moist.
Altogether this meal cost me about $7 to prepare. Yummy!!!
My husband had been describing this recipe forever, and I finally found it. It was another inexpensive dinner. Altogether it cost me about $6-7 to make, and I had leftovers. I am not a fan of baked beans, but this was good!
Franks and Beans Casserole
1 tbsp of oil
1 chopped bell pepper
1 chopped onion
1 large can of baked beans (28oz)
3/4 cup of bbq sauce
1 tbsp spicy brown mustard
1 tbsp packed brown sugar
6 hot dogs (cut up)
1/2 cup shredded cheese
salt and pepper
Preheat oven to 375°. Put oil in a pan and saute onion & bell pepper until soft. Grease an 8×8 casserole dish. Combine all ingredients except for biscuits and cheese. Top with biscuits and bake for 20 minutes. Take it out sprinkle cheese on top and bake another 10 minutes. Done!
The hardest part of this recipe was chopping the onion and bell pepper! It took me less than 10 minutes to get it in the oven. Recipes like that are always good. 😉
I wasn’t really sure about this recipe, but I already had the ingredients so I figured I would try it. The total for this meal was $6.80 it fed the whole family of five. It was very good even my picky eater liked it. Plus, it was easy!
The bottom of this has a biscuit layer. You can substitute as you like. I use pizza dough in one of the pouches because it’s inexpensive. Can biscuits, bisquick, canned pizza dough, any of it will work fine.
BBQ Beef Casserole
1lb of ground beef
1 cup bbq sauce
1/4 cup of yellow mustard
1 cup if cheese
Preheat oven 350°. Brown meat and drain. Mix mustard, bbq sauce, and meat. Set aside. Spray 8×8 casserole dish with cooking spray and put in layer of dough. Push the dough up the sides a little. Bake for 5-7 minutes just to get it slightly done. Take it out add meat mixture and top with cheese. Bake for another 10-15 minutes until the cheese starts to brown. Done!
I actually found this recipe while looking for another. My husband loooved it! Plus it only cost me around $6 to make. I have left off the jalapenos before, and I have also substituted the tomatoes and bell pepper with rotel. Instead of bisquick I have used pizza dough (it was a lot cheaper that way).
John Wayne Casserole
2 lbs ground beef cooked and drained
1 pack taco seasoning
4 oz sour cream
8 oz shredded cheese divided in half
1 yellow onion chopped
1 chopped tomato
1 green bell pepper chopped
jalapeno peppers (slices)
4 oz mayonnaise
2 cups bisquick
Preheat 325°. Cook beef, drain, and add taco seasoning according to package. In a separate bowl combine sour cream, 1/2 the cheese, 1/2 the onion and mayo; set aside. Mix bisquick (according to the directions) and add to the bottom of a greased 9×13 casserole dish. Saute remaining onion & bell pepper until soft. On top of bisquick add meat, tomatoes, bell peppers and onion, jalapenos, sour cream mixture, and top with remaining cheese. Bake 30-40 minutes until edges are lightly brown.
